Trinity Lutheran Church
Utica, Michigan
The renovation of Trinity Lutheran Church preserves the sanctuary’s traditional character while giving it a more contemporary expression. The existing timber structure and familiar arrangement of the worship space remain central to the design. Refined woodwork, pale stone and blue-gray finishes bring a quieter, coordinated palette to the interior, while custom-designed liturgical furnishings carry the church’s traditions into a renewed setting. A reconfigured chancel, revised pew arrangements and accessible seating support the way the congregation gathers today. Updates to the choir loft, audiovisual spaces and cry room extend this approach throughout the sanctuary—respecting the church’s identity while adapting it for continued use.
