The Trail House

The Trail House site is located on a mountain side within a nature reserve in Archidona, Ecuador. The design of the house was inspired by the nature trails that the owners would experience on a day-to-day basis as they operated the reserve.  As one approaches the house and explores its interior and grounds, they discover multiple paths and areas that resemble the experiences that one would find while traversing through the mountain. Its materials were selected based on the local natural resources available, as well as their ability to blend with its natural surroundings.
